The Greasy Beats...

...are an all-star funky music machine that hails from Los Angeles and features some of the most respected and in-demand young musicians in Southern California. Every individual in this funky gang of musicians has made their mark on the music scene. Members have performed or recorded with such artists/bands as: Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Sergio Mendez, Big Daddy Kane, Too $hort, De La Soul, Cake, Sublime, Mos Def, Joss Stone, Money Mark, Cut Chemist, Rakim, Ghostface Killah, Redman, Jason Mraz, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, Ricky Lee Jones, Mike Doughty, Little Brother, DJ Z-Trip, Jem, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, The Breakestra, Quantic Soul Orchestra, DJ Logic, Marc Broussard, Connie Price & The Keystones, Orgone, The Southland, Melvin Sparks, Sam Rivers and Eddie Bo just to name a few.

Many stars of the acid-jazz and funk scene have sat-in or guested with The GB’s including Chris Stillwell, Elgin Parks and Robert Walter (of the Greyboy Allstars), Stanton Moore (Galactic), Eric Krasno, Alan Evans & Sam Kininger (Soulive), Cheme Gastelum (20th Congress, Dap Kings), Brian Jordan (KDTU), Todd Simon (Macy Grey, Antibalas, Dap Kings) Steve Molitz (Particle) and rock guitar god Slash (Guns n' Roses).

THE GREASY BEATS have forged a rough & raw approach to The FUNK that is reminiscent of The JB's,
Maceo Parker, The Meters, Bootsy's Rubber Band and the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown.
THE GREASY BEATS have firmly established their reputation as THE heaviest funk band in Southern California with successful extended residences at both the world famous ROXY THEATRE
in Hollywood and the TEMPLE BAR in Santa Monica.

"For The GB's, when it comes to gettin' down, James Brown is the ground!"
